3*

Synopsis-

Just as Ever is learning everything she can about her new abilities as an immortal, initiated into the dark, seductive world by her beloved Damen, something terrible is happening to him. As Ever’s powers are increasing, Damen’s begin to fade after he is stricken by a mysterious illness that threatens his memory, his identity, his life.

Desperate to save him, Ever travels to the mystical dimension of Summerland, where she uncovers not only the secrets of Damen’s past – the brutal, tortured history he hoped to keep hidden – but also an ancient text revealing the workings of time. With the approaching blue moon heralding her only window for travel, Ever is forced to decide between turning back the clock and saving her family from the accident that claimed them – or staying in the present and saving Damen, who grows weaker each day….

My Views

This is the second book in the immortal’s series. I was excited to see where the plot went in the next book and how it would unfold. New characters were introduced which brought in new challenges for Ever to face and use of Summerland to answer her queries.

It took a while to get going in my opinion, I was pushing my way through to get to the excitement. When the story did reach the excitement, it was good to read, and I finished the book.

Good points!

The new characters of two twins (Romy and Rayne) which I loved because I am a twin myself ha-ha. They added new life to the story which made you want to know more about them and their roles. Also, Roman who Ever couldn’t figure him out until later in the book. He added new danger and excitement to the story.

The ending was good It placed twist in the story so far which left me wanting to continue onto the next book in the series.

Bad Points!

The beginning of the story took a while to get into, which made It hard to continue reading. Also, I was getting more romance vibes of the genre than the fantasy throughout the book. However, the plot does involve this throughout the books.

Overall

The 3* rating was mainly on the plot taking forever to get going and I felt a little disappointed with the story. However, the ending allowed me to want to carry on with Ever’s journey to see where and what happens next.

Thanks for reading 🙂

Book Review- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass

Photo by Dominika Gregušová on Pexels.com

Hi new book review for you to have a read if you are interested 🙂

5*

Synopsis –

Feyre’s survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So, when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price …

Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre’s presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

My Views

This book had me hooked after the first few chapters! which is properly why only took me 3 days to read ha-ha.  Feyre is the main character to the story who is living in poverty and must hunt to provide for her family. Something happens that has her in trouble or, so she thought. Tamlin who takes her to his court as payment for her wrong. She then finds her self uncovering secrets of the fairies she didn’t know existed.

The book is fast pace and is fantasy genre with so many new creatures, magic and love in the book. As I am an ending fan of books, this didn’t disappoint me at all. It leaves you wanting to read the books to follow. I loved all the characters that was placed in the book, but Lucien is my favourite so far in the series. The story placed many twists in the plot I didn’t expect which I loved!

Fav Quotes-

“There once was a lady most beautiful

spirited, if a little unusual

Her friends were few

But how men did queue

But all gave a refusal”

“Thorny. Prickly. Sour. Contrary” I love both the quotes they set the tone of the book.

Good points

The book keeps a fast pace plot throughout the story. It displays characters that you grow to love and hate. Now I am Tamlin fan however, others have told me to prepare for the next books ha-ha. I love that there is a strong female character that does not depend on boys/men to hunt and provide for her family.

Another good point Is there were so many secrets and twists to the book it is hard not to put down! Lucien character I loved throughout he was the humour, laughter and loyal friend of the story. The story is so well written that you can literally picture every description and sentence. The romance was well thought out as you see the characters grow on one another.

Bad points

As was a 5* rating there wasn’t many bad points. However, the one thing I would say is this book is written for female readers in my opinion. This is only because as I read the book I couldn’t imagine a male reading it and enjoying it the same. This is just my view though!

Thanks for reading my review ! 🙂

Sand!

Hi to all my readers check out my new poem down below 🙂

Sand slips through your hands so quickly,

The time it takes to drain will never be enough.

You sparkle so bright with every grain its tough,

to watch people, walk over you every day and night.

You cover such large areas, yet you still make it to me:

the feel of delicate, soft and wetness with your touch,

I wish for longer as I clutch to the memories.

The moment lasts forever for me but for you?

They are mine to keep and treasure:

“the best years of my life yet the cold is here”

And through each day I walk away knowing your clear,

yet leaving me for another, so sad but true.

I awake each night and day hoping to see you shine:

A glisten of hope in my heart forever waiting.

When the day arrives, I grab my last grain,

wishing it to last forever but I truly lost you forever.

Thanks for reading 🙂

Chapter 1!

Hi all my readers! I’m posting chapter of a book i have started writing. Any feedback would be lovely in the comments 🙂

It’s been years since Joseph left, all but me remain, many of my other brothers moved for marriage  but I knew that was not my destiny. I turned eighteen last week, my father is looking for suitors for me to marry. My thoughts lay with the one person who showed me love, my brother Joseph.  A knock came to the door. “Ivy it’s time to meet the new suitor today.” Ivy moved her covers from her body and stretched to wake herself. “Yes, father I am just getting ready now.” She walked to the mirror clutching the necklace tight holding back her tears. Ivy shoved a short dress which hugged her figure nicely and added her boots. She reached for the door, walked to the living room which only had one couch and a small coffee table.  My mother stood in the kitchen making tea for the guests that’s when I saw him. The fare haired man with the greenest eyes I had ever seen. “Ivy, this is Lucas.”  her father said. She walked towards the man and held her hand out well taking him all in. Lucas reached for her hand and gently placed a kiss upon it. “Lovely to meet you Ivy.” Ivy never spoke up when her father was present until now. “Lucas would you follow me into the training room?” “Ivy I don’t think that will be necessary.” He looked her directly into her eyes with angry forming. “Well, I need to get to know him father.” Ivy dragged the man through to the training room.

She let go of his hand and took a sit near the weapons area. “Wow this is an impressive room.” Lucas smiled towards Ivy as he spoke. “Yes, my brother built it.” A look of pain formed in her eyes as Lucas walked over to join her. “I am sorry about all this arranged marriage stuff.” “It is not your fault I just despise my father and I blame him for the past. He reached for her hands and smiled at her. Ivy did not understand this emotion she was feeling. “I see, well I suppose if we get stuck marrying it would not be that bad.” “Lucas… can I ask you for something?” “oh, course what is it?” Ivy looked embarrassed to be asking but she wanted to know. “Will you kiss me?” Lucas reached for a strand of hair and placed it behind her eye. She looked at his lips then his eyes were watching in amusement. Their lips reached one another as they closed their eyes their tongues swirled into a fantasy she had dreamed of. She thought he was unlike the other suitors. Their hands exploring each other’s bodies until… “Ivy!” Her father dragged her off him in disgust. “Father stop!” Ivy was choking on her hair being dragged by her father to her room. He throws her on her bed and turned to walk away she looked alone again with no one.  That night Ivy didn’t leave her bed as she wept her tears all night until sleep came.

Thanks for reading my posts! Stay tuned for more 🙂

Evermore by Alyson Noel!

Hi! another book review on my April read hope you all like it!

Photo by Kat Jayne on Pexels.com

4*

Synopsis-

Sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom is the sole survivor of a car accident that killed her family. Ever is haunted by her little sister and by the ability to see people’s auras, hear their thoughts and know their entire life story by touching them.  She wants to hide from the world, but when a stunningly handsome new guy arrives at school, she can’t keep away.

Views

The story follows from the point of view of Ever the main character. She can see people’s auras and see people’s thoughts through touch. The genre for this is Romance Fantasy shocker haha. This is my fav genre for those that don’t know.

The plot of the novel took a while to get going for me personally. However, I enjoy the endings of books the most and this book ending surprised me through twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. Also, the book focused on small detail of flowers throughout. It made me want to know the significance of the flowers and it did that by the end of the book.

The character of Riley (little sister) in this book was a nice touch and showed great relationships of the two throughout the scenes. Also, Damen is the new school guy Ever finds intriguing and it follows the development of their relationship. The chemistry shown in the books was what all romances is about!

Fav Quotes

“Ever watched a cat kill a mouse? She smiles, eyes glowing.”

It just shows the kind of character Drina is in the book series and it makes me laugh. Also, in a good part of the book were the pace of the plot is in swing.

“Creepiest friendship ever, Ever ha Get it?”

Another funny quote in the novel! The story was good and had funny moments like this and also emotional ones.

Negatives!

The reason it has a high rating is because of the twists in the plot and the ending didn’t disappoint! Though I will say I wouldn’t know there were more to the story if I didn’t search this myself.  Also, it took its time for me to get into it properly and that’s why it got 4 stars and not 5. I can’t see were the plot will go in the other books in the series is another reason for a lower rating.

Overall, I would recommend this book to any Romance Fantasy fans out there! I will be starting the second book in May to see where the plot will go.

Thanks for reading! More to post soon 🙂

Knock at the door!

Hi all! New poem i have worked on. Hope you like it 🙂

Can you hear it?

The insane tapping destroying my head.

Growing louder and louder until…

It stopped dead.

Where did it go? Has it gone?

Creeping, lurking, hiding its face.

 The tapping started again!

Make it stop! Though I feel I must embrace.

Capture it! I must follow the sound,

Closer and Closer its coming for me!

Run into the shadows for it is safe,

Empty, cold and darkness to come.

They are my demons and my fears:

“The darkness is coming for me!”

And through each moment I walked away,

Edging forward to see…. Nothing but black.

Bang, Bang, Bang, it is here.

Running would be best yet, I stand.

Standing tall I walk towards the knock at the door.

Then it stopped. The noise is gone, now must I.

Thanks for reading 🙂 More to come soon!

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini Book Review!

Photo by Murilo Folgosi on Pexels.com

Hi to all my readers 🙂 This my first book review on one of my fav book series. So have a look see what you think.

The book is based on character of Helen who has weird nightmares and is drawn to Lucas who has no idea of their secrets. Fate drives this story about repeating of history, as Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry and she realises the myths are true.

From the title of the book Starcrossed suggests, from my point of view that people cannot be together for some reason. This is what the novel does it creates obstacles in which two people from different backgrounds face.

My view on the novel, is it set out background of the story and where it was going in the first few chapters. It creates hatred towards characters because of the past. “Meeting his eyes was an awakening” This quote so short and sweet as it gets straight to the point.

“Gorge-ousl! I can see why she’s got Luke’s panties in a twist, she said with a cheeky grin.” “No! That’s all done with!”

This is one of my fav quotes in the story. It allows to show the cheesy romance in the air and, the kind of character Helen is. It brings in Greek myths and all things Zeus etc…

The genre is Fantasy Romance one of my fav genres ha-ha. There are books like Percy Jackson that also, relate to Greek gods and myths but I feel that this series connected with me through the romance storyline and the plot unfolding through each chapter.

With all books there are negatives however, as my rating is 5* I don’t think it could get any better but, that maybe due to my love of these types of books. One thing makes book so great is the characters throughout the book and there are twists at every corner.

100% Recommend a read of this book! Don’t forget the other two DREAMLESS AND GODDESS!

Thanks for reading! 🙂 Maybe post new poem later or tomorrow

Snowflake

Hi! fellow readers I’ve added short poem I have worked on hope u enjoy reading it. 🙂

Drifting, waiting slowly for it to stop!

The pain of this cold to never end.

All I wanted was a friend!

To keep me company and love me.

Now time has come for me to fall.

On my way I see you in the dance hall,

knowing I will never see you again.

Yet all is so dreamy and unreal.

The delicate, soft and gentle touch awoke me.

Time was standing still for this was the moment,

I couldn’t get over this bestowment.

It all begin and it all ended.

Thanks for reading my poem. More to come soon! 🙂

Opening Chapter!

After my last post, I left a few sentences from opening of story i have started. I would love some feedback in the comments on improving my work. Also, don’t be shy to say why you don’t like it all feedback is welcome 🙂

Once a upon a time there was a little girl named Ivy. She hadlong silky hair which was black with blonde tints, some called her a witch. Healways saw her from above that’s where the sky people lived. Ivy trained dailyto build her strength for there was no help in the pit, her brothers hated herall but one. Joseph had a muscular frame which allowed him to protect hisfamily. “Ivy” Joseph spoke so softly. “Yes?” She dropped her sword turned toface him. “I bring news” Ivy reached for a towel to wipe the sweat from herface. Joseph came and sat with his young sister, he saw the fear in her eyes.“I have been called to the sky people for service….” Ivy stood up in angry “NO!they cannot take you from me Joseph” She knelt on the floor covering her tearsas she wept, he knelt beside her bringing her into a hug. “I know Ivy if it wasup to me I would be here with you to watch you grow up. It is the king’s ordersand you know they must be obeyed. She looked into her brother’s eyes and sawthe love he carried for her and the fear of what was to come. He reached intohis pocket and placed a necklace, placed with a black gem with red shiningthrough it. “It’s so beautiful, I cannot take this Joe.” She placed it in hishands he stood up and placed the necklace around her neck it fitted perfectly.“You must take it, think of it as something to remind you of me” He smiled hischeeky grin. “Fine, I give in.” Their father entered the room taking up thewhole door frame, he had his arms crossed over his chest. “Joseph it’s time toleave the plane is here, Ivy you shouldn’t keep your brother from getting thereon time.” Joseph looked one last time at Ivy as she walked towards the door toher room. Ivy never spoke up to her father as he was not a kind man he abusedhis power. Her room had little in it expect a mirror she walked over and stoodlooking closely at her necklace. “One day we will meet again brother for I willnot stop until I do.”
