3*
Synopsis-
Just as Ever is learning
everything she can about her new abilities as an immortal, initiated into the
dark, seductive world by her beloved Damen, something terrible is happening to
him. As Ever’s powers are increasing, Damen’s begin to fade after he is stricken
by a mysterious illness that threatens his memory, his identity, his life.
Desperate to save him, Ever travels to the mystical dimension
of Summerland, where she uncovers not only the secrets of Damen’s past – the
brutal, tortured history he hoped to keep hidden – but also an ancient text
revealing the workings of time. With the approaching blue moon heralding her
only window for travel, Ever is forced to decide between turning back the clock
and saving her family from the accident that claimed them – or staying in the
present and saving Damen, who grows weaker each day….
My Views
This is the second book in the immortal’s series. I was excited to see where the plot went in the next book and how it would unfold. New characters were introduced which brought in new challenges for Ever to face and use of Summerland to answer her queries.
It took a while to get going in my opinion, I was pushing my way through to get to the excitement. When the story did reach the excitement, it was good to read, and I finished the book.
Good points!
The new characters of two twins (Romy and Rayne) which I loved because I am a twin myself ha-ha. They added new life to the story which made you want to know more about them and their roles. Also, Roman who Ever couldn’t figure him out until later in the book. He added new danger and excitement to the story.
The ending was good It placed twist in the story so far which left me wanting to continue onto the next book in the series.
Bad Points!
The beginning of the story took a while to get into, which made It hard to continue reading. Also, I was getting more romance vibes of the genre than the fantasy throughout the book. However, the plot does involve this throughout the books.
Overall
The 3* rating was mainly on the plot taking forever to get going and I felt a little disappointed with the story. However, the ending allowed me to want to carry on with Ever’s journey to see where and what happens next.
Thanks for reading 🙂
